Traumatic Brain Injury
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) research focuses on improving diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment through advanced data analysis techniques. Current efforts leverage machine learning, particularly deep learning models like recurrent neural networks and ensemble methods such as XGBoost, to analyze diverse data sources including electronic medical records, CT scans, and EEG, identifying distinct TBI phenotypes and predicting outcomes like ventilator-associated pneumonia. These advancements aim to improve patient care by enabling earlier and more accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment strategies, and ultimately, better functional outcomes.
