UAV Exploration

UAV exploration research focuses on efficiently and autonomously mapping and surveying unknown environments using multiple unmanned aerial vehicles. Current efforts concentrate on improving exploration speed and efficiency through advanced path planning algorithms (e.g., those based on Voronoi partitions, tree-based methods, and coverage path guidance), often incorporating reinforcement learning and model predictive control for optimized trajectory generation and obstacle avoidance. These advancements are significant for various applications, including search and rescue, precision agriculture, and infrastructure inspection, enabling faster data acquisition and improved decision-making in challenging scenarios.
