Universal Robot 5

The Universal Robots 5 (UR5) is a collaborative robot arm used extensively in research for various applications, including welding, ultrasound imaging, and manipulation tasks. Current research focuses on improving its capabilities through advanced control algorithms, such as reinforcement learning and velocity-based approaches, to enable more human-like movements and complex manipulations, including those involving dynamic objects like cables. This work is significant for advancing human-robot interaction, improving the safety and efficiency of robotic systems in diverse industrial and assistive settings, and pushing the boundaries of robotic dexterity and autonomy.
