Unmanned Aerial
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are the focus of intense research aiming to improve their autonomy, efficiency, and safety for diverse applications. Current research emphasizes enhancing navigation and control through advanced algorithms like reinforcement learning and flatness-based control, alongside improved localization using visual-inertial odometry and tag-based systems, particularly in GPS-denied environments. These advancements are crucial for expanding UAV capabilities in areas such as search and rescue, infrastructure inspection, and delivery, while addressing challenges like energy efficiency, collision avoidance, and reliable operation in complex or unpredictable conditions.
