Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Photogrammetry
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry uses images captured by drones to create 3D models of objects and environments, primarily aiming for accurate geometric reconstruction and detailed visual representation. Current research emphasizes improving model accuracy and efficiency through techniques like inverse rendering for albedo recovery, neural radiance fields (NeRFs) for novel view synthesis, and machine learning for tasks such as water surface elevation estimation. These advancements are significantly impacting various fields, including industrial digital twinning, cultural heritage preservation, and precision surveying, by providing cost-effective and efficient methods for 3D data acquisition and analysis.
