Unmasked Face
Unmasked face research centers on overcoming the challenges posed by face masks to various computer vision tasks, primarily face recognition and related applications. Current research focuses on developing robust algorithms, often employing deep learning architectures like GANs and convolutional neural networks, to either reconstruct unmasked faces from masked images or directly improve recognition performance despite mask occlusion. This work is crucial for improving the accuracy and fairness of facial recognition systems, impacting fields ranging from security and surveillance to healthcare and public health monitoring.
