Urban Road Network
Urban road networks are complex systems whose efficient management is crucial for mitigating traffic congestion and improving overall urban mobility. Current research focuses on optimizing traffic signal control using techniques like reinforcement learning and meta-optimization, enhancing travel demand modeling through deep hybrid models incorporating road network data and graph embeddings, and improving the accuracy of map-matching algorithms using transformer-based models. These advancements aim to improve traffic flow, optimize resource allocation (e.g., charging stations), and better understand the impact of various factors like curbside pick-ups and drop-offs on overall network performance, ultimately leading to more efficient and sustainable urban transportation systems.
