Urban Village

Urban villages, informal settlements within or near urban centers, are a focus of research using remote sensing imagery to improve monitoring and understanding. Current research employs advanced deep learning models, including state-space models enhanced with deformable convolutions and adaptations of foundation models like Segment Anything Model, to achieve accurate and efficient boundary identification and segmentation of these complex areas. This work is driven by the need for improved methods to track urban village characteristics, inform sustainable development initiatives, and support urban planning, offering significant potential for more effective policy and resource allocation.
