User Persona

User personas are models representing typical users, crucial for personalizing user experiences and improving the safety and effectiveness of AI systems. Current research focuses on automatically generating and utilizing personas from various data sources, including user interactions and interviews, employing techniques like federated learning, transformer-based language models (e.g., BERT, GPT), and matrix factorization to capture user behavior and preferences. This work is significant for enhancing the personalization of services like social media and search engines, as well as mitigating risks associated with misaligned AI models by understanding how user persona influences model behavior and output.
