Vectorized High Definition
Vectorized high-definition (HD) map construction aims to create detailed, digital representations of the environment using vector data, primarily for autonomous driving applications. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy and robustness of online HD map generation using various deep learning architectures, including transformer-based models and those incorporating temporal information from sensor streams and prior map data (e.g., OpenStreetMap). These advancements address challenges like occlusion and long-range perception, leading to more reliable and efficient map creation for safer and more effective autonomous navigation.
