Verbal Behavior
Verbal behavior research investigates how language is used to achieve communicative goals, encompassing both its structural and functional aspects. Current research focuses on modeling verbal behavior using machine learning techniques, such as transformers and recurrent neural networks, to analyze personality traits from text, synthesize realistic speech and gestures, and improve human-computer interaction. This work has implications for understanding communication disorders like stuttering, enhancing therapeutic interventions, and developing more natural and effective human-agent interaction systems.
