VI ReID
Visible-infrared person re-identification (VI-ReID) focuses on accurately matching individuals across different camera modalities (visible and infrared), a crucial task for robust surveillance systems. Current research emphasizes overcoming the significant visual discrepancies between these modalities, often employing techniques like multi-step domain generalization, mutual distillation learning between different feature extraction branches, and the integration of auxiliary information such as pose estimation or face features. These advancements improve the accuracy and reliability of person identification across diverse lighting conditions and viewpoints, with implications for security, law enforcement, and other applications requiring reliable person tracking and identification.
