Video Based Person Re Identification
Video-based person re-identification (ReID) focuses on automatically identifying individuals across different non-overlapping camera views in video footage, a crucial task for surveillance and security applications. Current research emphasizes improving robustness to variations in appearance (e.g., clothing changes), viewpoint, and occlusion, often employing deep learning architectures like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Transformers, sometimes enhanced with graph convolutional networks or attention mechanisms to leverage spatial-temporal relationships and keypoint information. These advancements are driven by the need for more accurate and reliable person identification in challenging real-world scenarios, impacting fields ranging from law enforcement to smart city infrastructure.
