View Extrapolation

View extrapolation aims to generate realistic images or videos from viewpoints not directly observed, extending beyond the limitations of traditional rendering or image capture. Current research focuses on improving the speed and quality of extrapolation using various techniques, including patch-based parallel processing, G-buffer-free neural networks, and leveraging ray consistency in neural radiance fields (NeRFs) for 3D scene representation. These advancements are crucial for enhancing real-time rendering in applications like gaming and virtual reality, as well as enabling novel image editing capabilities and high-fidelity 360° view generation.
