Visual Relocalization
Visual relocalization aims to determine a camera's position and orientation (pose) within a scene using only image data, a crucial task for robotics, augmented reality, and autonomous navigation. Current research emphasizes improving accuracy and efficiency, focusing on methods that leverage instance-level knowledge, depth information, and sparse feature representations, often employing neural networks (e.g., NeRFs, pose regressors) or graph-based optimization techniques to handle challenging scenarios like repetitive structures and viewpoint changes. These advancements are significant for enhancing the robustness and reliability of autonomous systems operating in dynamic and unstructured environments.
