Wave Prediction
Wave prediction research aims to accurately forecast ocean wave characteristics for various applications, from maritime safety to renewable energy harvesting. Current efforts focus on developing computationally efficient and accurate models, employing techniques like deep learning (including energy-conserving architectures and Fourier neural operators), physics-informed neural networks, and the integration of numerical solvers with machine learning components. These advancements improve the accuracy and speed of wave forecasting, particularly in challenging conditions, and offer valuable insights for optimizing control systems in marine environments and improving the initialization of deterministic wave prediction methods.
