ACL Fig

ACL-Fig is a newly developed large-scale dataset of scientific figures extracted from research papers, primarily focusing on classifying figure types and purposes to improve scientific information retrieval. Current research utilizes deep learning models trained on this dataset to enhance the semantic understanding of visual scientific information, addressing the limitations of text-based search engines. This work is significant because it enables the development of improved search and analysis tools for scientific literature, potentially accelerating research discovery and knowledge dissemination by leveraging the rich information contained within figures.
