Affective Tutoring System

Affective tutoring systems (ATS) aim to enhance learning by adapting to students' emotional states and engagement levels. Current research focuses on integrating real-time emotion recognition, often using physiological sensors (like smartwatches) or computer vision (analyzing facial expressions and head pose), with personalized tutoring strategies and algorithms like Markov decision processes. This approach shows promise in improving learning outcomes and student satisfaction by tailoring instruction to individual emotional needs and promoting more effective and engaging learning experiences.
