Camera LiDAR Fusion Model
Camera-LiDAR fusion models aim to improve the accuracy and robustness of 3D object detection in autonomous driving by combining the strengths of camera images and LiDAR point clouds. Current research focuses on optimizing fusion architectures, including exploring knowledge distillation for efficient camera-only deployment and developing robust fusion strategies that mitigate the impact of adverse weather conditions and adversarial attacks. These advancements are crucial for enhancing the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles, addressing vulnerabilities highlighted by recent studies demonstrating the susceptibility of these models to both natural and adversarial perturbations.
