Claim veracity research focuses on automatically assessing the truthfulness of statements, combating the spread of misinformation. Current efforts leverage natural language processing techniques, including graph-based models that integrate information from diverse sources like text and tables, and large language models for both classification and explanation generation. This work is crucial for improving the reliability of online information and enhancing scientific reproducibility by enabling automated fact-checking and error correction in various domains.
