Collaborative Manipulation
Collaborative manipulation research focuses on enabling robots to effectively and safely work alongside humans to manipulate objects. Current efforts concentrate on improving robot perception (e.g., through tactile sensing and intent recognition using force feedback), developing advanced planning algorithms (like graph neural networks and model predictive control) for efficient and collision-free motion, and designing safer, lighter-weight robotic manipulators. This field is significant for advancing human-robot interaction, with applications ranging from industrial automation and assistive robotics to underwater and space exploration.
