Configuration Space
Configuration space (C-space) represents the set of all possible states of a system, such as a robot's joint angles or a molecule's atomic positions, often used in robotics and other fields to plan motions or analyze system behavior. Current research focuses on efficiently representing and navigating high-dimensional C-spaces, employing methods like distance fields, neural networks (including generative models and implicit neural representations), and graph-based approaches to improve planning speed and accuracy. These advancements are crucial for enabling real-time motion planning in complex environments for robots and improving the efficiency of various optimization and control tasks across diverse applications.
