Ethical NaTural Language
Ethical Natural Language (ENL) research focuses on mitigating biases and harmful outputs in large language models (LLMs), aiming to create more responsible and equitable AI systems. Current efforts concentrate on developing methods to improve the logical consistency and fairness of LLM explanations, often employing neuro-symbolic techniques or intervention-based training to address issues like gender bias, toxicity, and semantic faithfulness. This work is crucial for ensuring the responsible deployment of LLMs, impacting fields ranging from question answering and text-to-image generation to broader applications where fairness and ethical considerations are paramount.
