French Biomedical
French biomedical natural language processing (NLP) research focuses on developing and evaluating language models capable of effectively processing French medical texts. Current efforts concentrate on adapting and fine-tuning existing architectures, such as BERT and Longformer, for biomedical tasks like named entity recognition and question answering, often using continual pre-training to improve efficiency. These advancements are crucial for facilitating information extraction from French clinical data, enabling more efficient research and improved healthcare applications. Standardization of evaluation benchmarks is also a key area of development to ensure fair comparison of model performance.
