High Efficiency Video Coding
High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) aims to achieve high compression ratios while maintaining acceptable video quality, addressing the ever-increasing demand for efficient video transmission and storage. Current research focuses on improving HEVC's encoding speed and compression efficiency through techniques like convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for faster partitioning and motion vector prediction, as well as employing deep learning models for end-to-end optimization and quality enhancement. These advancements are significant because they can reduce computational complexity, improve compression performance, and enhance video quality for various applications, including real-time video streaming and machine vision.
