Implantable Microphone

Implantable microphones aim to improve hearing implant technology by replacing external devices with miniature, surgically implanted sensors. Current research focuses on developing robust and sensitive microphone designs, such as those based on piezoelectric materials that measure middle ear vibrations, to achieve performance comparable to existing hearing aids. Successful miniaturization and biocompatibility remain key challenges, but progress towards achieving these goals holds significant promise for enhancing the functionality and cosmetic appeal of hearing implants.
