Intelligent Multicast Routing

Intelligent multicast routing aims to optimize the distribution of data to multiple recipients in networks, focusing on efficient tree construction and adaptation to dynamic conditions. Current research heavily utilizes deep reinforcement learning, particularly multi-agent and hierarchical architectures, to address the computational complexity of finding optimal multicast trees in software-defined networks (SDNs) and software-defined wireless networks (SDWNs). These approaches leverage global network state information to improve key performance indicators like bandwidth utilization, latency, and packet loss, ultimately enhancing the quality of service for multicast applications. The resulting improvements in efficiency and adaptability have significant implications for various applications requiring efficient data dissemination, such as video streaming and collaborative online services.
