Plane Resolution
Plane resolution in medical imaging, particularly concerning the disparity between in-plane and through-plane resolution in techniques like CT and MRI, is a key focus of current research. Efforts center on developing sophisticated deep learning models, such as those employing inter- and intra-slice interpolation or self-supervised learning approaches, to enhance through-plane resolution by leveraging the higher in-plane resolution. This work aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce scan times by generating higher-resolution volumetric images, addressing challenges like domain adaptation across different scanners and overcoming limitations imposed by anisotropic data. The resulting improvements in image quality have significant implications for clinical applications and downstream medical image analysis tasks.
