Primate Behavior
Research on primate behavior is increasingly leveraging computer vision techniques to analyze large video datasets, aiming to understand complex social interactions and ecological decisions in both captive and wild settings. Current efforts focus on developing and applying deep learning models, such as YOLO and X3D, for tasks like object detection, tracking, and behavior recognition from drone and camera trap footage, often incorporating ethograms to improve accuracy. This automated analysis promises to significantly accelerate behavioral research, enabling more comprehensive studies of primate social dynamics and cognitive abilities.
