Resolution Face Recognition
Resolution face recognition focuses on accurately identifying individuals from low-resolution images, a challenging problem due to the loss of fine facial details. Current research heavily emphasizes knowledge distillation techniques, where a model trained on high-resolution images guides the training of a model for low-resolution faces, often employing generative and discriminative models or attention mechanisms to improve feature extraction. This area is crucial for enhancing security applications (e.g., surveillance) and improving the robustness of face recognition systems in real-world scenarios where high-quality images are not always available.
