RNA Folding
RNA folding, the process by which RNA molecules adopt specific three-dimensional structures crucial for their function, is a complex problem actively investigated using computational methods. Current research focuses on developing advanced machine learning models, including flow-matching networks, transformers, and hidden Markov models, to predict RNA secondary and tertiary structures, design RNA sequences with desired properties, and even model the inherent ambiguities in RNA folding pathways. These improved computational approaches are significantly advancing our understanding of RNA biology and enabling the design of novel RNA molecules for therapeutic and biotechnological applications.
