Skill Demand
Skill demand forecasting aims to predict future labor market needs for specific skills, enabling proactive workforce development and economic planning. Current research focuses on developing sophisticated models, including recurrent neural networks and graph-based hypernetworks, to capture the complex interrelationships between skills and predict demand and supply jointly across various granularities (e.g., occupation, company, region). These advancements leverage large datasets of online job postings to improve forecasting accuracy and inform policy decisions regarding education, training, and economic competitiveness. The ultimate goal is to better align workforce skills with evolving market demands, mitigating skill gaps and promoting economic growth.
