Smoky Vehicle

Smoky vehicle detection aims to automatically identify vehicles emitting excessive smoke, improving environmental monitoring compared to traditional methods. Current research focuses on developing robust computer vision algorithms, often employing deep learning architectures like YOLO, enhanced by multi-stage processing to differentiate smoke from similar visual features (e.g., shadows). The availability of large, annotated datasets is crucial for training these models and enabling fair comparisons between different approaches, ultimately contributing to more effective air quality monitoring and enforcement.
