Switchboard Corpus
The Switchboard Corpus is a large collection of telephone conversations used extensively in speech research, primarily focusing on improving automatic speech recognition (ASR) and natural language processing (NLP) systems. Current research leverages this corpus to advance ASR model architectures, such as hybrid systems incorporating Conformers and TDNNs, and to explore efficient techniques like quantization for reducing computational costs. Furthermore, the corpus facilitates investigations into nuanced aspects of human conversation, including disfluency detection and topic transition modeling, ultimately aiming to create more human-like and robust conversational AI.
