Synthetic Clinical Note
Synthetic clinical notes are artificially generated text mimicking real patient records, addressing the critical need for large, diverse datasets in medical research while protecting patient privacy. Current research focuses on leveraging large language models (LLMs), such as GPT variants and others, often incorporating medical knowledge graphs to enhance realism and accuracy, and exploring various data augmentation and de-identification techniques to balance data utility and privacy. This work is significant because it enables broader access to crucial clinical data for training machine learning models, improving diagnostic tools, and advancing medical research without compromising patient confidentiality.
