Traditional ECU
Traditional Electronic Control Units (ECUs) are undergoing significant transformation, driven by the increasing complexity of automotive software and the need for enhanced security and efficiency. Current research focuses on improving ECU performance and security through methods such as microservice architectures, lightweight intrusion detection systems (IDS) employing quantized neural networks and deep learning models analyzing communication traffic (e.g., SOME/IP), and advanced diagnostic protocols like UDS. These advancements aim to enhance real-time performance, reduce latency, improve cybersecurity, and enable more sophisticated vehicle functionalities while minimizing resource consumption.
