Unexplored Environment
Research on unexplored environments focuses on enabling autonomous systems, such as robots and underwater vehicles, to navigate, perceive, and interact with unknown spaces effectively. Current efforts leverage hierarchical planning, deep learning models (including neural networks for prediction and object detection), and novel algorithms like dynamic chain-of-navigation to achieve robust operation in diverse settings, from underwater habitats to terrestrial pastures. This work is significant for advancing autonomous exploration in challenging environments, improving data collection efficiency in fields like oceanography and agriculture, and ultimately enhancing our understanding of these largely uncharted areas.
