Video Bronchoscopy
Video bronchoscopy, the use of cameras to visualize the airways, is undergoing a transformation driven by artificial intelligence. Current research focuses on improving navigation and diagnosis through automated airway segmentation and lesion detection using deep learning architectures like convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and transformers, often incorporating multimodal data (e.g., images and robot pose) and temporal information for enhanced accuracy. These advancements aim to improve the efficiency and accuracy of bronchoscopic procedures, ultimately leading to earlier and more precise diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases.
