Wind Turbine Gearbox
Wind turbine gearboxes are critical components whose failure leads to significant downtime and costs in wind energy production. Current research focuses on developing advanced predictive maintenance strategies using machine learning, particularly employing graph neural networks and physics-constrained recurrent neural networks, to analyze vibration and temperature data for early fault detection and time-to-failure prediction. These data-driven approaches aim to automate fault diagnosis, reducing reliance on expert knowledge and improving the accuracy and efficiency of maintenance procedures, ultimately increasing the reliability and economic viability of wind energy farms.
