LVMark: Robust Watermark for Latent Video Diffusion Models

Authors: Youngdong JangMinHyuk JangJaeHyeok LeeFeng YangGyeongrok OhJongheon JeongSangpil Kim

Abstract

Rapid advancements in video diffusion models have enabled the creation of realistic videos, raising concerns about unauthorized use and driving the demand for techniques to protect model ownership. Existing watermarking methods suffer from two key limitations: they overlook temporal consistency due to conventional watermark decoders and degrade the visual quality of the generated videos. To address these issues, we introduce a robust watermarking method for latent video diffusion models named Latent Video Diffusion Watermarking (LVMark). We propose a novel watermark decoder tailored for generated videos by learning the consistency between adjacent frames. It ensures accurate message decoding, even under malicious attacks, by combining the low-frequency components of the three-dimensional wavelet domain with the color features of the video. Additionally, we train a latent decoder to maintain the visual fidelity of the generated video. Watermarks are embedded into layers with minimal impact on visual appearance using an importance-based weight modulation strategy. We optimize both the watermark decoder and the latent decoder of diffusion model, effectively balancing the trade-off between visual quality and bit accuracy. Our experiments show that our method embeds invisible watermarks into video diffusion models, ensuring robust decoding accuracy with 512-bit capacity, even under distortions.

BiSLW: Bi-Spectral Latent Watermarking for Generative Diffusion Models

Diffusion-based generative models have transformed visual content synthesis, yet they remain vulnerable to unauthorized usage and lack reliable attribution methods. Existing watermarking techniques often treat latent tensors as static spatial feature maps or depend on pixel-domain modification, and most do not explicitly leverage the internal frequency structure of the latent space for dual-band redundant embedding, leaving them susceptible to the stochastic nature of diffusion and regeneration attacks. We introduce BiSLW, a trainable bi-spectral latent watermarking framework that jointly embeds aligned identity signals across complementary spectral bands of the decoded diffusion latent using learned encoders and decoders, going beyond fixed-pattern frequency approaches. We leverage the inherent frequency structure of diffusion latents to design a dual-band watermarking framework. Low-frequency components encode global semantics, while high-frequency components capture fine texture. We exploit this structure to embed watermarks across complementary spectral bands. The watermark is independently injected into both bands via learned encoders and recombined before decoding, ensuring it becomes intrinsic to the generative trajectory. Dual spectral decoders recover the watermark from each band, while a cross-band consistency constraint enforces alignment between semantic and textural embeddings. Experiments show that BiSLW achieves a strong balance between perceptual fidelity and robustness, improving PSNR by over 3 dB compared to prior latent diffusion watermarking methods while preserving near-perfect bit accuracy under aggressive regeneration and common distortions, all with negligible computational overhead.

LoT-Pass: Long-term-robust Image Watermarking for Image to Video Generation

The rapid progress of image-guided video generation (I2V) has raised concerns about its potential misuse in misinformation and fraud, underscoring the urgent need for effective digital watermarking. While existing watermarking methods demonstrate robustness within a single modality, they fail to trace source images in I2V settings. To address this gap, we introduce the concept of Robust Diffusion Distance, which measures the temporal persistence of watermark signals in generated videos. Building on this, we propose I2VWM, a cross-modal watermarking framework designed to enhance watermark robustness across time. I2VWM leverages a video-simulation noise layer during training and employs an optical-flow-based alignment module during inference. Experiments on both open-source and commercial I2V models demonstrate that I2VWM significantly improves robustness while maintaining imperceptibility, establishing a new paradigm for cross-modal watermarking in the era of generative video. \href{https://github.com/MrCrims/I2VWM-Robust-Watermarking-for-Image-to-Video-Generation}{Code Released.}

DeepFreqMark: End-To-End Learnable Frequency-Domain Watermarking with Spherical Attack Simulation for Latent Diffusion Models

The proliferation of AI-generated images produced by Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) has raised critical concerns regarding copyright infringement and misinformation. Although existing frequency-domain watermarking methods embed handcrafted geometric patterns into the initial latent noise prior to generation, they suffer from limited capacity and rigid pattern designs. We propose DeepFreqMark, an end-to-end learnable frequency-domain watermarking framework that replaces manual pattern engineering with a neural message encoder and decoder. To circumvent the computational bottleneck caused by Denoising Diffusion Implicit Model (DDIM) inversion during training, we introduce a Spherical Linear Interpolation (Slerp)-based attack simulation. This approach operates directly on the noise latent while strictly preserving the Gaussian variance. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DeepFreqMark achieves significantly lower Bit Error Rates (BER) than baseline methods under real-world attacks and scales to 256 bits message capacity.
