Abstract

The rise of 3D Gaussian Splatting has revolutionized photorealistic 3D asset creation, yet a critical gap remains for their interactive refinement and editing. Existing approaches based on diffusion or optimization are ill-suited for this task, as they are often prohibitively slow, destructive to the original asset's identity, or lack the precision for fine-grained control. To address this, we introduce SplatPainter, a state-aware feedforward model that enables continuous editing of 3D Gaussian assets from user-provided 2D view(s). Our method directly predicts updates to the attributes of a compact, feature-rich Gaussian representation and leverages Test-Time Training to create a state-aware, iterative workflow. The versatility of our approach allows a single architecture to perform diverse tasks, including high-fidelity local detail refinement, local paint-over, and consistent global recoloring, all at interactive speeds, paving the way for fluid and intuitive 3D content authoring.

Robust Prior-Guided Segmentation for Editable 3D Gaussian Splatting

3D Gaussian Splatting (3D-GS) enables real-time 3D scene reconstruction but lacks robust segmentation for editing tasks such as object removal, extraction, and recoloring. Existing approaches that lift 2D segmentations to the 3D domain suffer from view inconsistencies and coarse masks. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that leverages the Segment Anything Model High Quality (SAM-HQ) to generate accurate 2D masks, addressing the limitations of the standard SAM in boundary fidelity and fine-structure preservation. To achieve robust 3D segmentation of any target object in a given scene, we introduce a prior-guided label reassignment method that assigns labels to 3D Gaussians by enforcing multiview consistency with learned priors. Our approach achieves state-of-the-art segmentation accuracy and enables interactive, real-time object editing while maintaining high visual fidelity. Qualitative results demonstrate superior boundary preservation and practical utility in Virtual Reality (VR) and robotics, advancing 3D scene editing.

AnchorSplat: Fast and Structure Consistent Detail Synthesis for Gaussian Splatting

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has emerged as a powerful representation for high-fidelity rendering. However, existing assets often suffer from quality bottlenecks such as missing details and texture noise. Prior attempts to enhance these assets via 2D image processing introduce multi-view inconsistencies and high computational costs. In this paper, we propose a novel 3D-native refinement paradigm named AnchorSplat. AnchorSplat is an end-to-end deep network operating directly on 3D structures, avoiding the expensive optimization overhead of traditional 3D-2D-3D pipelines. Crucially, AnchorSplat is a strictly source-free solution requiring no original multi-view images. Central to the proposed method is the Point Anchor Mechanism, which enforces geometric consistency via local offset constraints, mitigating ill-posed mapping and gradient confounding. Furthermore, AnchorSplat replaces iterative densification with a single-pass multiplication mechanism. To facilitate research, we construct 3DGS-SR, the first large-scale benchmark for this task. Experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art results on the 3DGS-SR dataset, with throughput up to 10510^5 times faster than optimization methods. Notably, AnchorSplat exhibits robust zero-shot generalization across diverse data distributions, including generative model outputs and real-world scans.

PixGS: Pixel-Space Diffusion for Direct 3D Gaussian Splat Generation

Recent advances in 3D content generation from text or images have achieved impressive results, yet view inconsistency from 2D generators and the scarcity of high-quality 3D data remain significant bottlenecks. Existing solutions typically adapt large-scale pre-trained text-to-image latent diffusion models to generate 3D Gaussian Splats (3DGS). However, these approaches often rely on training complex cascade pipelines that are computationally expensive and scalability-limited. Most critically, the quality of generated 3D assets is inherently constrained by each component capacity and compressed latent space, leading to decoding artifacts and accumulated errors. To address these limitations, we propose PixGS, a single-stage pipeline for direct high-quality 3DGS generation, which leverages recent advances in pixel-space diffusion to bypass lossy latent compression while still benefiting from the vast 2D generative priors. By directly denoising 3D Gaussian attributes at each timestep, our method enables precise, splat-level regularization of both appearance and geometry. Furthermore, we introduce a comprehensive supervision strategy that incorporates surface normals, depth, and high-frequency structural information, which is often overlooked in prior works. Experiments demonstrate that PixGS outperforms current state-of-the-art methods while maintaining a fast inference speed (1s on a single A100 GPU), offering a robust and efficient alternative to multi-stage generation pipelines.
