Abstract

We present a novel approach for generating realistic speaking and talking faces by synthesizing a person's voice and facial movements from a static image, a voice profile, and a target text. The model encodes the prompt/driving text, the driving image, and the voice profile of an individual and then combines them to pass them to the multi-entangled latent space to foster key-value pairs and queries for the audio and video modality generation pipeline. The multi-entangled latent space is responsible for establishing the spatiotemporal person-specific features between the modalities. Further, entangled features are passed to the respective decoder of each modality for output audio and video generation.

Integrating Facial Generation into Full-Duplex Spoken Dialogue Systems

Full-duplex spoken dialogue models, such as Moshi, enable natural, low-latency voice conversations. However, they remain limited to the audio modality, lacking the facial expressions that are integral to human communication. We present Moshi-Face, the first full-duplex dialogue model that jointly processes the user's audio and facial input while simultaneously generating speech and facial motion. We first construct a vector-quantized variational autoencoder (VQ-VAE) as a face codec that encodes 3D head meshes extracted from facial videos into compact discrete tokens, referred to as face tokens, and conversely reconstructs 3D meshes from these tokens. We then extend Moshi with a Face Transformer module that generates face tokens non-autoregressively, enabling Moshi-Face to produce synchronized audio and face tokens in real time. Experiments show that Moshi-Face achieves audiovisual alignment at low latency while preserving the dialogue quality of the original audio-only model.

MMFace-DiT: A Dual-Stream Diffusion Transformer for High-Fidelity Multimodal Face Generation

Recent multimodal face generation models address the spatial control limitations of text-to-image diffusion models by augmenting text-based conditioning with spatial priors such as segmentation masks, sketches, or edge maps. This multimodal fusion enables controllable synthesis aligned with both high-level semantic intent and low-level structural layout. However, most existing approaches typically extend pre-trained text-to-image pipelines by appending auxiliary control modules or stitching together separate uni-modal networks. These ad hoc designs inherit architectural constraints, duplicate parameters, and often fail under conflicting modalities or mismatched latent spaces, limiting their ability to perform synergistic fusion across semantic and spatial domains. We introduce MMFace-DiT, a unified dual-stream diffusion transformer engineered for synergistic multimodal face synthesis. Its core novelty lies in a dual-stream transformer block that processes spatial (mask/sketch) and semantic (text) tokens in parallel, deeply fusing them through a shared Rotary Position-Embedded (RoPE) Attention mechanism. This design prevents modal dominance and ensures strong adherence to both text and structural priors to achieve unprecedented spatial-semantic consistency for controllable face generation. Furthermore, a novel Modality Embedder enables a single cohesive model to dynamically adapt to varying spatial conditions without retraining. MMFace-DiT achieves a 40% improvement in visual fidelity and prompt alignment over six state-of-the-art multimodal face generation models, establishing a flexible new paradigm for end-to-end controllable generative modeling. AudioFace: Language-Assisted Speech-Driven Facial Animation with Multimodal Language Models

Speech-driven facial animation requires accurate correspondence between acoustic signals and facial motion, especially for articulation-related mouth movements. However, directly mapping speech audio to facial coefficients often overlooks the linguistic and phonetic structure underlying speech production. In this paper, we propose AudioFace, a language-assisted framework for speech-driven blendshape generation that treats mouth-related facial coefficient prediction as a structured generation problem guided by linguistic and articulatory information. Instead of relying solely on acoustic features, our method leverages the prior knowledge of multimodal large language models and introduces transcript- and phoneme-level cues to bridge speech signals with interpretable facial actions. Extensive experiments show that AudioFace achieves superior performance across multiple evaluation metrics, validating the effectiveness of language-assisted and multimodal-prior-guided speech-driven facial animation.
