Abstract

Recently, Instant Neural Graphics Primitives (Instant-NGP) has achieved significant success in rapid 3D scene reconstruction, but securely embedding high-capacity hidden data, such as an entire 3D scene, remains a challenge. Existing methods rely on external decoders, require architectural modifications, and suffer from limited capacity, which makes them easily detectable. We propose a novel parameter-free 3D Cryptographic Steganography using Instant-NGP (StegoNGP), which leverages the Instant-NGP hash encoding function as a key-controlled scene switcher. By associating a default key with a cover scene and a secret key with a hidden scene, our method trains a single model to interweave both representations within the same network weights. The resulting model is indistinguishable from a standard Instant-NGP in architecture and parameter count. We also introduce an enhanced Multi-Key scheme, which assigns multiple independent keys across hash levels, dramatically expanding the key space and providing high robustness against partial key disclosure attacks. Experimental results demonstrated that StegoNGP can hide a complete high-quality 3D scene with strong imperceptibility and security, providing a new paradigm for high-capacity, undetectable information hiding in neural fields. IBRSteG: Learning a Generalizable Steganography Framework for 3D Gaussian Splatting

Recent advances in deep learning have notably improved steganographic message hiding. However, designing a generalizable steganographic approach for 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) that can embed meaningful 3D scene content remains challenging. In this paper, we propose IBRSteG, a generalizable framework for 3DGS steganography that enables undetectable concealment of secret scenes within a steganographic scene. Unlike existing approaches whose parameter generation is rigidly coupled with the specific scene, we formulate 3D steganography as a feed-forward 3D Gaussian embedding process that generalizes across different 3DGS scenes. To realize this, we introduce GAS (Gaussian Attributes Steganographer), a network that learns a scene-independent embedding function by injecting the attributes of secret 3D Gaussian points into a cover scene, thereby directly reconstructing the steganographic scenes without per-scene finetuning or optimization. By transforming 3D Gaussian into these structured attributes, these attributes are compatible with 2D learning paradigms and benefit from their structured nature, thereby enhancing generalization to unseen 3DGS scenes. Extensive experiments on established datasets demonstrate that IBRSteG can effectively conceal different scenes with high visual quality, and achieves superior capacity and security. Splats in Splats++: Robust and Generalizable 3D Gaussian Splatting Steganography

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has recently redefined the paradigm of 3D reconstruction, striking an unprecedented balance between visual fidelity and computational efficiency. As its adoption proliferates, safeguarding the copyright of explicit 3DGS assets has become paramount. However, existing invisible message embedding frameworks struggle to reconcile secure and high-capacity data embedding with intrinsic asset utility, often disrupting the native rendering pipeline or exhibiting vulnerability to structural perturbations. In this work, we present Splats in Splats++, a unified and pipeline-agnostic steganography framework that seamlessly embeds high-capacity 3D/4D content directly within the native 3DGS representation. Grounded in a principled analysis of the frequency distribution of Spherical Harmonics (SH), we propose an importance-graded SH coefficient encryption scheme that achieves imperceptible embedding without compromising the original expressive power. To fundamentally resolve the geometric ambiguities that lead to message leakage, we introduce a Hash-Grid Guided Opacity Mapping mechanism. Coupled with a novel Gradient-Gated Opacity Consistency Loss, our formulation enforces a stringent spatial-attribute coupling between the original and hidden scenes, effectively projecting the discrete attribute mapping into a continuous, attack-resilient latent manifold. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method substantially outperforms existing approaches, achieving up to 6.28 db higher message fidelity, \textbf{3×\times} faster rendering, and exceptional robustness against aggressive 3D-targeted structural attacks (e.g., GSPure). Furthermore, our framework exhibits remarkable versatility, generalizing seamlessly to 2D image embedding, 4D dynamic scene steganography, and diverse downstream tasks.

Style as Cover: Deep Image Steganography via Stylized Transmission

Image steganography hides secret message within normal images, with most existing works relying on cover-preserving transmission. However, such a paradigm becomes vulnerable once the original cover is exposed or can be reliably approximated. In this paper, we propose StyleStegaNet, a stylized image hiding framework that replaces cover matching with style-concealment transmission. Instead of transmitting a cover-like stego image, StyleStegaNet generates stylized stego images conditioned on publicly available style references, redefining steganography invisibility from cover-preserving concealment to behavior-level camouflage based on style transformation. Such a setting poses a substantial challenge to reliable secret recovery, since neural stylization can significantly alter the feature statistics exploited by deep hiding methods. To address this challenge, StyleStegaNet decouples the overall task into four coordinated stages: stego generation, stylized transmission, structure-preserving reconstruction, and secret recovery. Moreover, StyleStegaNet is optimized with a progressive three-stage training strategy, in which wavelet-domain constraints and perceptual supervision guide the recoverable information toward structural representations. We further provide an analysis showing that secret recoverability is largely restricted to the normalized structural subspace, offering a mechanistic explanation for why directly stylized baselines fail and why a reconstruction-guided recovery path is necessary. Extensive experiments on DIV2K and MS-COCO datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of StyleStegaNet. And few-shot image steganalysis with two deep detectors further shows detection accuracy near random guessing, approximately 51%.
