Abstract

Although existing virtual try-on systems have made significant progress with the advent of diffusion models, the current benchmarks of these models are based on datasets that are dominant in western-style clothing and female models, limiting their ability to generalize culturally diverse clothing styles. In this work, we introduce BD-VITON, a virtual try-on dataset focused on Bangladeshi garments, including saree, panjabi and salwar kameez, covering both male and female categories as well. These garments present unique structural challenges such as complex draping, asymmetric layering, and high deformation complexities which are underrepresented in the original VITON dataset. To establish strong baselines, we retrain and evaluate try-on models, namely StableViton, HR-VITON, and VITON-HD on our dataset. Our experiments demonstrate consistent improvements in terms of both quantitative and qualitative analysis, compared to zero shot inference.

Garments2Look: A Multi-Reference Dataset for High-Fidelity Outfit-Level Virtual Try-On with Clothing and Accessories

Virtual try-on (VTON) has advanced single-garment visualization, yet real-world fashion centers on full outfits with multiple garments, accessories, fine-grained categories, layering, and diverse styling, remaining beyond current VTON systems. Existing datasets are category-limited and lack outfit diversity. We introduce Garments2Look, the first large-scale multimodal dataset for outfit-level VTON, comprising 80K many-garments-to-one-look pairs across 40 major categories and 300+ fine-grained subcategories. Each pair includes an outfit with 3-12 reference garment images (Average 4.48), a model image wearing the outfit, and detailed item and try-on textual annotations. To balance authenticity and diversity, we propose a synthesis pipeline. It involves heuristically constructing outfit lists before generating try-on results, with the entire process subjected to strict automated filtering and human validation to ensure data quality. To probe task difficulty, we adapt SOTA VTON methods and general-purpose image editing models to establish baselines. Results show current methods struggle to try on complete outfits seamlessly and to infer correct layering and styling, leading to misalignment and artifacts.

FitVTON: Fit-aware Virtual Try-On via Body-Garment Size Control

While diffusion-based virtual try-on has achieved impressive visual realism, most methods treat the task as 2D inpainting, prioritizing texture preservation over physical plausibility. Consequently, they often produce plausible-looking images that fail to reflect authentic garment fit across diverse body shapes. We present FitVTON, a Fit-aware virtual try-on model on different bodies in the wild. FitVTON encodes garment-body size through structured text prompts, and learn from simulated try-on triplets from parameterized garment model. To improve the fitting effects over garment silhouettes, we introduce two auxiliary head to predict the masks for both the garment and the exposed body. We further introduce a texture rectification stage to improve realistic appearance from simulated data. To evaluate the fitting fidelity, we curate a real-world dataset, FittingEffect3K, combining VLM-based scoring protocol. Both subjective and quantitive experiments show that FitVTON demonstrate authentic fitting fidelity, with significant sizing accuracy and shape preservation over state-of-the-art methods while maintaining competitive image quality. Beyond Global Realism: Virtual Try-On Evaluation and Optimization with Dimension-wise Garment Fidelity Assessment

Virtual try-on (VTON) requires not only realistic generation but also faithful preservation of garment characteristics. However, existing evaluation metrics such as PSNR, SSIM, KID and FID struggle to measure the consistency between the generated and reference garments, particularly in capturing the multi-dimensional characteristics of garment fidelity. To address this, we propose DAT: a Dimension-wise Assessment framework for virtual Try-on, which decomposes garment consistency into seven interpretable dimensions: silhouette, color, neckline and sleeve shape, major decoration and structure, material texture, fine-detail fidelity, and logo preservation, each formulated as a discrete attribute-level prediction task. To train this specialized assessment model, we adopt a two-stage learning paradigm comprising large-scale weak supervision on 50K samples, followed by refinement on 10K higher-quality annotations obtained via multi-model voting. Furthermore, we employ weighted cross-entropy loss to mitigate the severe label imbalance inherent across evaluation dimensions. Beyond its role as an evaluation framework, the assessment model can be integrated into reinforcement learning optimization of Qwen-Image-Edit for VTON, where dimension-wise rewards are adaptively aggregated to emphasize under-optimized aspects during training. Experimental results show that our method (8B parameters) achieves state-of-the-art performance in terms of balanced accuracy, SROCC, and PLCC, outperforming strong proprietary models such as Gemini-3.1, Qwen3.7-plus, and GPT-5.5, while also serving as an effective optimization signal for reward-guided VTON generation
