Abstract

Knowledge Graphs (KGs) are foundational to applications such as search, question answering, and recommendation. Conventional knowledge graph construction methods are predominantly static, rely ing on a single-step construction from a fixed corpus with a prede f ined schema. However, such methods are suboptimal for real-world sce narios where data arrives dynamically, as incorporating new informa tion requires complete and computationally expensive graph reconstruc tions. Furthermore, predefined schemas hinder the flexibility of knowl edge graph construction. To address these limitations, we introduce DIAL KG, a closed-loop framework for incremental KG construction orches trated by a Meta-Knowledge Base (MKB). The framework oper ates in a three-stage cycle: (i) Dual-Track Extraction, which ensures knowledge completeness by defaulting to triple generation and switching to event extraction for complex knowledge; (ii) Governance Adjudica tion, which ensures the fidelity and currency of extracted facts to prevent hallucinations and knowledge staleness; and (iii) Schema Evolution, in which new schemas are induced from validated knowledge to guide subsequent construction cycles, and knowledge from the current round is incrementally applied to the existing KG. Extensive experiments demon strate that our framework achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance in the quality of both the constructed graph and the induced schemas.

Traceable Context-Enriched Knowledge Graph Generation with Induced Schemas

Knowledge graph generation typically relies either on predefined ontologies or on schema-free extraction. Ontology-driven pipelines enforce consistent typing but require costly schema design and maintenance, whereas schema-free methods often produce fragmented graphs with weak global organization, especially in long technical documents with dense, context-dependent information. We propose TRACE-KG (Text-dRiven schemA for Context-Enriched Knowledge Graphs), a framework that jointly constructs a context-enriched knowledge graph and an induced schema without assuming a predefined ontology. TRACE-KG captures conditional relations through structured qualifiers and organizes entities and relations using a data-driven schema that serves as a reusable semantic scaffold while preserving full traceability to the source evidence. Experiments show that TRACE-KG produces structurally coherent, traceable knowledge graphs and offers a practical alternative to both ontology-driven and schema-free construction pipelines. Construction of Knowledge Graph based on Language Model

Knowledge Graph (KG) can effectively integrate valuable information from massive data, and thus has been rapidly developed and widely used in many fields. Traditional KG construction methods rely on manual annotation, which often consumes a lot of time and manpower. And KG construction schemes based on deep learning tend to have weak generalization capabilities. With the rapid development of Pre-trained Language Models (PLM), PLM has shown great potential in the field of KG construction. This paper provides a comprehensive review of recent research advances in the field of construction of KGs using PLM. In this paper, we explain how PLM can utilize its language understanding and generation capabilities to automatically extract key information for KGs, such as entities and relations, from textual data. In addition, We also propose a new Hyper-Relarional Knowledge Graph construction framework based on lightweight Large Language Model (LLM) named LLHKG and compares it with previous methods. Under our framework, the KG construction capability of lightweight LLM is comparable to GPT3.5.

KGCQual: An Interpretable Framework for Evaluating the Knowledge Graph Construction Quality from Text

Knowledge Graphs (KGs) are increasingly constructed through automated extraction pipelines; however, such systems often introduce spurious or incomplete triples, which degrade downstream performance. Existing evaluation practices rely heavily on task-specific metrics or small-scale manual verification, offering limited insight into the structural and semantic fidelity of extracted graphs. We propose a novel, interpretable metric for intrinsic KG quality assessment that measures how closely an automatically extracted graph approximates an "ideal" graph capturing the key noun phrases, predicate relations, and basic linguistic phenomena such as negation expressed in the source text. Our framework integrates two complementary components: (1) an entity-level assessment that evaluates completeness, resolution quality, and connectivity, and (2) a relation-level assessment that judges predicate preservation and multiplicity using lexical similarity, dependency-parse alignment, and light-weight negation handling to ensure semantic faithfulness. We evaluate our metric across multiple state-of-the-art triple extraction systems and datasets, including WebNLG, TinyButMighty, and BenchIE, demonstrating that it reliably identifies omissions, redundancy, and structural deviations that existing metrics overlook. Our work offers a scalable, model-agnostic, and interpretable framework for comparing automated KG construction methods and provides a foundation for standardised evaluation. We further validate the metric through an ablation study isolating noun and verb components, and a downstream evaluation showing that KGCQual scores correlate significantly with link prediction performance on the same extracted KGs.
