Abstract

We present ModMap, a natively multiview and multimodal framework for 3D anomaly detection and segmentation. Unlike existing methods that process views independently, our method draws inspiration from the crossmodal feature mapping paradigm to learn to map features across both modalities and views, while explicitly modelling view-dependent relationships through feature-wise modulation. We introduce a cross-view training strategy that leverages all possible view combinations, enabling effective anomaly scoring through multiview ensembling and aggregation. To process high-resolution 3D data, we train and publicly release a foundational depth encoder tailored to industrial datasets. Experiments on SiM3D, a recent benchmark that introduces the first multiview and multimodal setup for 3D anomaly detection and segmentation, demonstrate that ModMap attains state-of-the-art performance by surpassing previous methods by wide margins.

Cross-Modal Mapping and Dual-Branch Reconstruction for 2D-3D Multimodal Industrial Anomaly Detection

Multimodal industrial anomaly detection benefits from integrating RGB appearance with 3D surface geometry, yet existing unsupervised approaches commonly rely on memory banks, teacher-student architectures, or fragile fusion schemes, limiting robustness under noisy depth, weak texture, or missing modalities. This paper introduces CMDR-IAD, a lightweight and modality-flexible unsupervised framework for reliable anomaly detection in 2D+3D multimodal as well as single-modality (2D-only or 3D-only) settings. CMDR-IAD combines bidirectional 2D↔\leftrightarrow3D cross-modal mapping to model appearance-geometry consistency with dual-branch reconstruction that independently captures normal texture and geometric structure. A two-part fusion strategy integrates these cues: a reliability-gated mapping anomaly highlights spatially consistent texture-geometry discrepancies, while a confidence-weighted reconstruction anomaly adaptively balances appearance and geometric deviations, yielding stable and precise anomaly localization even in depth-sparse or low-texture regions. On the MVTec 3D-AD benchmark, CMDR-IAD achieves state-of-the-art performance while operating without memory banks, reaching 97.3% image-level AUROC (I-AUROC), 99.6% pixel-level AUROC (P-AUROC), and 97.6% AUPRO. On a real-world polyurethane cutting dataset, the 3D-only variant attains 92.6% I-AUROC and 92.5% P-AUROC, demonstrating strong effectiveness under practical industrial conditions. These results highlight the framework's robustness, modality flexibility, and the effectiveness of the proposed fusion strategies for industrial visual inspection. SGANet: Semantic and Geometric Alignment for Multimodal Multi-view Anomaly Detection

Multi-view anomaly detection aims to identify surface defects on complex objects using observations captured from multiple viewpoints. However, existing unsupervised methods often suffer from feature inconsistency arising from viewpoint variations and modality discrepancies. To address these challenges, we propose a Semantic and Geometric Alignment Network (SGANet), a unified framework for multimodal multi-view anomaly detection that effectively combines semantic and geometric alignment to learn physically coherent feature representations across viewpoints and modalities. SGANet consists of three key components. The Selective Cross-view Feature Refinement Module (SCFRM) selectively aggregates informative patch features from adjacent views to enhance cross-view feature interaction. The Semantic-Structural Patch Alignment (SSPA) enforces semantic alignment across modalities while maintaining structural consistency under viewpoint transformations. The Multi-View Geometric Alignment (MVGA) further aligns geometrically corresponding patches across viewpoints. By jointly modeling feature interaction, semantic and structural consistency, and global geometric correspondence, SGANet effectively enhances anomaly detection performance in multimodal multi-view settings. Extensive experiments on the SiM3D and Eyecandies datasets demonstrate that SGANet achieves state-of-the-art performance in both anomaly detection and localization, validating its effectiveness in realistic industrial scenarios.

Text-Guided Multimodal Unified Industrial Anomaly Detection

Industrial anomaly detection based on RGB-3D multimodal data has emerged as a mainstream paradigm for intelligent quality inspection. However, existing unsupervised methods suffer from two critical limitations: ambiguous cross-modal alignment caused by the lack of high-level semantic guidance and insufficient geometric modeling for RGB-to-3D feature mapping. To address these issues, we propose a unified multimodal industrial anomaly detection framework guided by text semantics. The framework consists of two core modules: a Geometry-Aware Cross-Modal Mapper to preserve geometric structure during modality conversion, and an Object-Conditioned Textual Feature Adaptor to align multimodal features with semantic priors. Furthermore, we establish a unified learning paradigm for multimodal industrial anomaly detection, which breaks the one-model-one-class constraint and enables accurate anomaly detection across diverse classes using a single model. Extensive experiments on the MVTec 3D-AD and Eyecandies datasets demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance in classification and localization under unsupervised settings.
