Abstract

Detecting unseen anomalies in unstructured environments presents a critical challenge for industrial and agricultural applications such as material recycling and weeding. Existing perception systems frequently fail to satisfy the strict operational requirements of these domains, specifically real-time processing, pixel-level segmentation precision, and robust accuracy, due to their reliance on exhaustively annotated datasets. To address these limitations, we propose a weakly supervised pipeline for object segmentation and classification using weak image-level supervision called 'Patch Aggregation for Segmentation of Targets and Anomalies' (PASTA). By comparing an observed scene with a nominal reference, PASTA identifies Target and Anomaly objects through distribution analysis in self-supervised Vision Transformer (ViT) feature spaces. Our pipeline utilizes semantic text-prompts via the Segment Anything Model 3 to guide zero-shot object segmentation. Evaluations on a custom steel scrap recycling dataset and a plant dataset demonstrate a 75.8% training time reduction of our approach to domain-specific baselines. While being domain-agnostic, our method achieves superior Target (up to 88.3% IoU) and Anomaly (up to 63.5% IoU) segmentation performance in the industrial and agricultural domain.

SuperADD: Training-free Class-agnostic Anomaly Segmentation -- CVPR 2026 VAND 4.0 Workshop Challenge Industrial Track

Visual anomaly detection (AD) for industrial inspection is a highly relevant task in modern production environments. The problem becomes particularly challenging when training and deployment data differ due to changes in acquisition conditions during production. In the VAND 4.0 Industrial Track, models must remain robust under distribution shifts such as varying illumination and their performance is assessed on the MVTec AD 2 dataset. To address this setting, we propose a training-free and class-agnostic anomaly detection pipeline based on the work of SuperAD. Our approach improves generalization through several modifications designed to enhance robustness under distribution shifts. These adaptations include using a DINOv3 backbone, overlapping patch-wise processing, intensity-based augmentations, improved memory-bank subsampling for better coverage of the data distribution, and iterative morphological closing for cleaner and more spatially consistent anomaly maps. Unlike methods that rely on class-specific architectures or per-class hyperparameter tuning, our method uses a single architecture and one shared hyperparameter configuration across all object classes. This makes the approach well suited for industrial deployment, where product variants and appearance changes must be handled with minimal adaptation effort. We achieve segmentation F1 scores of 62.61%62.61\%, 57.42%57.42\%, and 54.35%54.35\% on test public, private, and private mixed of MVTec AD 2 respectively, thereby outperforming SuperAD and other state-of-the-art methods. DuoAD: Leveraging [CLS] Dual Characteristics for Training-Free Few-Shot Anomaly Detection

Vision foundation models have enabled strong training-free anomaly detection (AD). However, most existing approaches rely primarily on independent local patch features, leaving the global contextual information encoded by Vision Transformers (ViTs) underexploited. In this work, we identify the dual characteristics of the ViT [CLS] token: its embedding provides anomaly-invariant global semantic representation, while its attention maps implicitly highlight spatially abnormal regions. Building on this observation, we propose a fully automated AD framework leveraging global context to remove manual tunings. Our framework introduces (1) an automatic augmentation selection strategy driven by [CLS]-level semantic consistency, and (2) an attention-guided feature reweighting mechanism that dynamically adjusts patch contributions according to [CLS] attention saliency. By integrating these components over multi-level features, our method achieves stable anomaly scoring and precise localization without training or parameter tuning. Under the one-shot setting, it achieves Image-AUC scores of 97.7%, 93.2%, and 84.5% on MVTec-AD, VisA, and Real-IAD. Using a single fixed configuration across categories, backbones, and datasets, the method establishes a new state-of-the-art for plug-and-play, training-free anomaly detection while maintaining strong robustness and practical scalability.

SAFe: Segment-guided Aggregation of Feature Densities for Anomaly-aware Segmentation

Visual segmentation systems encounter objects outside their training distribution during real-world deployment, hindering reliable autonomous systems that depend on scene parsing in the perception stage. Many recent methods address this by using self-supervised foundation models to train density estimators that yield low likelihood in anomalous image regions. Although promising, these methods suffer from poor feature semantics or they lack spatial consistency, both of which undermine critical downstream decisions. We address this problem with~\method, a generative method based on class-conditional density estimation over self-supervised representations. SAFe trains lightweight normalizing flows that produce class-conditional normalized likelihood estimates over frozen DINOv3 features. We combine density estimates from transformer features with density scores over multi-scale convolutional features to capture both global semantics and local detail. We introduce a method-agnostic post-processing step based on SAM3 that connects per-location likelihoods into spatially coherent segments while suppressing false positives, and enables instance-level anomaly detection without retraining. The post processing further distinguishes novel categories among anomalous objects by a similarity-based agglomerative clustering scheme. SAFe sets a new state of the art on the PANIC, OoDIS, SMIYC ObstacleTrack with strong performance on the ISSU benchmark.
