Abstract

Ultra-high-definition (UHD) video denoising requires simultaneously suppressing complex spatio-temporal degradations, preserving fine textures and chromatic stability, and maintaining efficient full-resolution 4K deployment. In this paper, we propose UHD-GPGNet, a Gaussian-process-guided local spatio-temporal denoising framework that addresses these requirements jointly. Rather than relying on implicit feature learning alone, the method estimates sparse GP posterior statistics over compact spatio-temporal descriptors to explicitly characterize local degradation response and uncertainty, which then guide adaptive temporal-detail fusion. A structure-color collaborative reconstruction head decouples luminance, chroma, and high-frequency correction, while a heteroscedastic objective and overlap-tiled inference further stabilize optimization and enable memory-bounded 4K deployment. Experiments on UVG and RealisVideo-4K show that UHD-GPGNet achieves competitive restoration fidelity with substantially fewer parameters than existing methods, enables real-time full-resolution 4K inference with significant speedup over the closest quality competitor, and maintains robust performance across a multi-level mixed-degradation schedule.A real-world study on phone-captured 4K video further confirms that the model, trained entirely on synthetic degradation, generalizes to unseen real sensor noise and improves downstream object detection under challenging conditions.

From Zero to Detail: A Progressive Spectral Decoupling Paradigm for UHD Image Restoration with New Benchmark

Ultra-high-definition (UHD) image restoration poses unique challenges due to the high spatial resolution, diverse content, and fine-grained structures present in UHD images. To address these issues, we introduce a progressive spectral decomposition for the restoration process, decomposing it into three stages: zero-frequency enhancement, low-frequency restoration, and high-frequency refinement. Based on this formulation, we propose a novel framework, ERR, which integrates three cooperative sub-networks: the zero-frequency enhancer (ZFE), the low-frequency restorer (LFR), and the high-frequency refiner (HFR). The ZFE incorporates global priors to learn holistic mappings, the LFR reconstructs the main content by focusing on coarse-scale information, and the HFR adopts our proposed frequency-windowed Kolmogorov-Arnold Network (FW-KAN) to recover fine textures and intricate details for high-fidelity restoration. To further advance research in UHD image restoration, we also construct a large-scale, high-quality benchmark dataset, LSUHDIR, comprising 82{,}126 UHD images with diverse scenes and rich content. Our proposed methods demonstrate superior performance across a range of UHD image restoration tasks, and extensive ablation studies confirm the contribution and necessity of each module. DTG-Restore: Training-Free Diffusion Refinement for Generative Video Super-Resolution

Recent progress in video diffusion models has enabled remarkable generative fidelity, yet leveraging these priors for restoration remains limited by the strong coupling between conditional and unconditional branches in standard classifier-free guidance. We introduce a training-free framework that enhances distorted and low-resolution videos by decoupling these signals in time. Our proposed Decoupled Time Guidance (DTG) evaluates the unconditional branch at a cleaner diffusion timestep, providing a lookahead prior that preserves geometry while suppressing replication of warped content. This temporal bias is annealed throughout sampling, allowing the model to transition from structure correction to detail refinement without retraining. Combined with any off-the-shelf restoration module in a plug-and-play manner, our approach improves perceptual coherence and restores plausible structure in AIgenerated and real-world videos alike. To facilitate evaluation, we curate GenWarp480, a benchmark of 4,400 distorted 480p videos synthesized from diverse text-to-video models. GenWarp480 focuses on characteristic generative degradations such as warped faces, body misalignments, and spatial artifacts, providing a purpose-built testbed for assessing robustness to generative errors. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves significant improvements in structural fidelity and temporal stability without any model training.

LoopMoEVR: Loop-Based Degradation-Aware Mixture-of-Experts for Unified UHD Video Restoration

Recently, unified high-definition image restoration has attracted considerable attention; however, existing models tend to excessively increase their depth in pursuit of improved generalization, which often yields only limited gains. Meanwhile, loop-based learning paradigms have drawn widespread attention due to their low parameter counts and strong regression capability, as exemplified by GPT-6 and looped Transformers. In this paper, we introduce the loop learning paradigm to address restoration tasks that require cross-domain learning. Specifically, we propose LoopMoEVR, a loop-based mixture-of-experts model capable of handling degraded ultra-high-definition (UHD) inputs. First, a degradation-conditioned low-rank loop embedding is designed to construct input-dependent stage conditions. Second, a spatio-temporal iterative adaptive normalization module, termed IterAda3DN, is developed to fuse local features with global loop context, thereby performing position-wise affine modulation. Finally, the expert branches further integrate the attention-updated local and global video states with the loop conditions to generate dedicated modulation parameters, while an input-conditioned depth predictor adaptively configures the number of loop iterations. With only approximately 0.884M trainable parameters, the proposed model uniformly handles UHD video dehazing, deraining, denoising, and low-light enhancement tasks, achieving state-of-the-art restoration performance on both public benchmarks and real-world scenarios.
