Abstract

Narrative-driven product photography has become a prevalent paradigm in modern marketing, as coherent visual storytelling helps convey product value and establishes emotional engagement with consumers. However, existing image generation methods do not support structured narrative planning or cross-panel coordination, often resulting in weak storytelling and visual incoherence. In practice, narrative product photography is commonly presented as multi-grid collages, where multiple views or scenes jointly communicate a product narrative. To ensure visual consistency across grids and aesthetic harmony of the overall composition, we generate the collage as a single unified image rather than composing independently synthesized panels. We propose a self-reasoning agentic framework for narrative product grid collage generation. Given a product packshot and its name, the system first constructs a Product Narrative Framework that explicitly represents the product's identity, usage context, and situational environment, and translates it into complementary grids governed by a shared visual style. Constraint-aware prompts are then compiled and fed to a generation model that synthesizes the collage jointly. The generated output is evaluated on both content validity and photography quality, with explicit gates determining whether to proceed or refine. When evaluation fails, the system performs failure attribution and applies targeted refinement, enabling progressive improvement through iterative self-reflection. Experiments demonstrate that our framework consistently improves aesthetic quality, narrative richness, and visual coherence, compared to direct prompting baselines.

InterleaveThinker: Reinforcing Agentic Interleaved Generation

Recent image generators have demonstrated impressive photorealism and instruction-following capabilities in single-image generation and editing. However, constrained by their architectures, they cannot achieve interleaved generation (text-image sequence), which has crucial applications in visual narratives, guidance, and embodied manipulation. Even the latest open-source Unified Multimodal Models (UMMs) exhibit limited performance in this regard. In this paper, we introduce InterleaveThinker, the first multi-agent pipeline designed to endow any existing image generator with interleaved generation capabilities. Specifically, we employ a planner agent to organize the image-text input sequence, instructing the image generator on the required execution at each step. Subsequently, we introduce a critic agent to evaluate the generator's outputs, identify samples that deviate from the planned instructions, and refine the instructions for regeneration. To implement this pipeline, we construct the Interleave-Planner-SFT-80k and Interleave-Critic-SFT-112k to perform a format cold-start. Then we develop Interleave-Critic-RL-13k to reinforce the step-wise instruction correction capability within a generation trajectory using GRPO. Since a single interleaved generation trajectory may involve over 25 generator calls, optimizing the entire trajectory is computationally impractical. Therefore, we propose accuracy reward and step-wise reward, allowing single-step RL to effectively guide the entire generation trajectory. The results show that InterleaveThinker improves performance across various image generators. On interleaved generation benchmarks, it achieves performance comparable to Nano Banana and GPT-5. Surprisingly, it also significantly enhances the base model on reasoning-based benchmarks; for example, on 4-step FLUX.2-klein, we observe substantial gains on WISE and RISE.

Co-Director: Agentic Generative Video Storytelling

While diffusion models generate high-fidelity video clips, transforming them into coherent storytelling engines remains challenging. Current agentic pipelines automate this via chained modules but suffer from semantic drift and cascading failures due to independent, handcrafted prompting. We present Co-Director, a hierarchical multi-agent framework formalizing video storytelling as a global optimization problem. To ensure semantic coherence, we introduce hierarchical parameterization: a multi-armed bandit globally identifies promising creative directions, while a local multimodal self-refinement loop mitigates identity drift and ensures sequence-level consistency. This balances the exploration of novel narrative strategies with the exploitation of effective creative configurations. For evaluation, we introduce GenAD-Bench, a 400-scenario dataset of fictional products for personalized advertising. Experiments demonstrate that Co-Director significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, offering a principled approach that seamlessly generalizes to broader cinematic narratives. Utility-Aware Multimodal Contrastive Learning for Product Image Generation

Product images strongly influence consumer decision-making in online marketplaces. Empowered by multimodal contrastive learning, generative AI can output images that closely align with text prompts. Yet existing generative AI models do not directly optimize marketplace performance. This is a critical gap, since semantic alignment alone does not guarantee that an image will sell. To address this limitation, we propose a \textit{utility-aware multimodal contrastive learning} framework that incorporates consumer demand into a novel Utility-Aware InfoNCE loss. Optimizing this utility-aware objective guides generation toward images that are both semantically coherent and demand-enhancing. This effect arises directly from a shift in the learned image-text representation space toward demand-driven visual cues, which we also validate through the theoretical bound of the proposed objective. In downstream applications on Amazon and Airbnb, product images generated and edited by our method outperform state-of-the-art models in increasing demand and preserving fidelity, while maintaining text-image consistency. Notably, our utility-aware framework preserves inverse U-shaped demand patterns for attributes such as aesthetics and uniqueness, improving demand-based performance while preserving fidelity and semantic consistency. Human-subject experiments further validate its commercial effectiveness. As generative AI technology continues to evolve, our utility-aware component can be flexibly embedded into emerging generative models to improve direct commercial use.
