Abstract

Generating high-quality videos from complex temporal descriptions that contain multiple sequential actions is a key unsolved problem. Existing methods are constrained by an inherent trade-off: using multiple short prompts fed sequentially into the model improves action fidelity but compromises temporal consistency, while a single complex prompt preserves consistency at the cost of prompt-following capability. We attribute this problem to two primary causes: 1) temporal misalignment between video content and the prompt, and 2) conflicting attention coupling between motion-related visual objects and their associated text conditions. To address these challenges, we propose a novel, training-free attention mechanism, Temporal-wise Separable Attention (TS-Attn), which dynamically rearranges attention distribution to ensure temporal awareness and global coherence in multi-event scenarios. TS-Attn can be seamlessly integrated into various pre-trained text-to-video models, boosting StoryEval-Bench scores by 33.5% and 16.4% on Wan2.1-T2V-14B and Wan2.2-T2V-A14B with only a 2% increase in inference time. It also supports plug-and-play usage across models for multi-event image-to-video generation. The source code and project page are available at https://github.com/Hong-yu-Zhang/TS-Attn.

TunerDiT: Training-free Progressive Steering of Diffusion Transformer for Multi-Event Video Generation

Text-to-video (T2V) generation faces challenging questions when generating videos with long horizons containing multiple events. Inspired by the intrinsics of the diffusion process, we probe video diffusion transformers (DiTs) and uncover intrinsic turning points in the DiT denoising trajectory where conditioning text affects generation from global layout to fine-grained details. Building on this finding, we present TunerDiT, a simple yet effective progressive steering method that requires no additional training for multi-event generation. TunerDiT comprises two steering handles: (1) Event-Partitioned Masking that enforces event boundaries while allowing cross-event transition bands; (2) Cross-Event Prompt Fusion that injects neighboring event semantics for late-stage refinement. We contribute a self-curated prompt suite for benchmarking multi-event generation, i.e., Meve. TunerDiT achieves state-of-the-art performance across 8 metrics and offers a tunable trade-off between video consistency and event separation, compared with other training-free methods. The improvement in text alignment increases with the event count, indicating a scaling possibility with increasing event count.

Event-Driven Video Generation

Current text-to-video models can make individual frames look convincing while still getting simple interactions wrong: objects move before contact, an intended action is skipped, a placed object keeps drifting, or a support relation breaks. Our starting point is that standard frame-first denoising updates every latent region at every step, even when the prompt implies that only a local interaction should be active. We introduce Event-Driven Video Generation (EVD), a small DiT-compatible intervention that gives the sampler an explicit event signal. A lightweight head predicts token-level event activity; training losses tie that activity to latent state change; and event-gated sampling, with hysteresis and an early-step schedule, applies the update field mainly where an interaction is forming. On EVD-Bench, EVD improves human preference and VBench dynamics for state persistence, spatial accuracy, support relations, and contact stability, while keeping appearance quality comparable to the base model. The results suggest that a modest amount of event structure can correct several interaction failures that otherwise remain hidden behind good frame-level appearance.

Plan-and-Verify Video Reward Reasoning with Spatio-Temporal Scene Graph Grounding

Reward models for text-to-video (T2V) generation guide post-training but often fail at fine-grained semantic alignment. We trace this to two structural weaknesses in existing reasoning-based reward models: they do not systematically verify every condition described in the prompt, and the visual evidence supporting each judgment remains implicit in their free-form reasoning. We propose SG-PVR, a video reward model that addresses these limitations through plan-and-verify reasoning grounded in spatio-temporal scene graphs. The verification plan decomposes the prompt into atomic claims, ensuring every requirement is checked. The spatio-temporal scene graph, encoding entities, attributes, and temporally-grounded relations, is extracted from the video and maintained as a persistent structured visual reference throughout reasoning. Each claim is verified against both the video and the scene graph, anchoring judgments in explicit visual evidence. SG-PVR achieves strong performance on semantic alignment, including fine-grained temporal semantics. As a test-time reranker, it further enhances compositional alignment in T2V generation.
